"Focus Ability Group is the realisation of a vision that began over nine years ago when I first entered the disability sector as a support worker while studying Chemical Engineering at Curtin University. What started as a way to support myself through my studies quickly became far more meaningful than I had anticipated. ​

 

Working directly with participants gave me a firsthand understanding of the impact that the right support, delivered with respect and consistency, can have on someone’s quality of life. Over time, it became clear that my passion lay not in engineering, but in supporting people within the disability community to achieve their personal goals and live life on their own terms. ​

 

I have worked closely with individuals with diverse and complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Young Onset Dementia, Intellectual Disabilities, and Functional Neurological Disorder. These experiences have shaped a deep understanding of person‑centred practice, communication styles, risk‑aware support, and the importance of genuinely individualised care. ​
